We're always on the look-out for the best boutique hotels to explore, and we've found plenty of inspiration courtesy of India @TheIndiaEdit, whose blog and insta feed are impeccably curated edits of all things fashion, lifestyle and travel. We caught up with her to talk favourite holiday destinations, and to find out which hotels she most likes to hole up in (taking her Clifton cases along for the ride, naturally).
Where do you find inspiration?
The great thing about taking photos all the time means that you are always looking for the beauty in things so you notice your surroundings more. I am constantly inspired by others, particularly on Instagram. There are so many incredibly creative people that I’m always clicking ‘save’!
Which is the place that you would most like to return to?
Byron Bay – it’s just so beautiful and I love the vibe. I spent a week there once, but I could see myself spending months soaking up the surroundings and amazing food. Everyone was so friendly too!
Where in the world are you happiest?
Somewhere warm and in the sea!
What’s your favourite photograph that you’ve taken whilst travelling?
That is SO hard, but this one has been reposted more times than I can count from our beautiful hotel in Byron Bay, The Bower taken with my drone. This one was also amazing from there with my drone too!
Where are you heading to next?
Hopefully Menorca, but we’ll see!
What’s the first thing you do when you arrive in a new destination?
Whip out my camera!
Favourite places to stay in the UK?
I love The Cotswolds, near where I grew up. The Soho House group just get hotels right and Babington House and Soho Farmhouse have a place in my heart! Otherwise it would be Heckfield Place.
Favourite European city break?
I love Copenhagen – it’s so cool and the food is so good! Hotel wise it’s got to be Hotel Les Roches Rouges in the South of France for the wow factor.
What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever packed in your hand luggage?
Ankle weights—I got my bag checked at security because of them!
Tell us about how you pack.
I use one side of my case for clothes and the other for everything else (toiletries, shoes, tech and accessories). I love the Antler packing cubes for loose items and make sure I have different ones for underwear, swim, gym kit so everything is easy to find! I always make the most of my luggage allowance!
What do you look for in your luggage? Do you see it as a practical necessity or are you a bag lady?
I’m a bag lady 100%, but I want it to be chic, functional and light (if possible!). I’m usually the girl with as big a suitcase as possible at the maximum weight allowance, a carry-on bag and big basket bag!
